Draft Experts Can’t Agree on Lions’ Day 2 Pick
The Lions grabbed Moore with the 44th overall pick on Day 2, and apparently nobody can decide if it was smart or stupid. Welcome to draft season, where everyone has an opinion and half of them will be wrong by Thanksgiving.
Moore landing in Allen Park wasn’t exactly a shocker. When you’ve watched this franchise operate for decades, you start to recognize the patterns. Some draft experts are calling it a solid move, others are scratching their heads.
The split opinions tell you everything you need to know about draft analysis. It’s educated guessing dressed up as science, and we won’t know who was right until Moore either helps this team win or joins the long list of Day 2 picks that didn’t pan out.
At least we can say this much: the Lions picked where they were supposed to pick, took a guy who was in the conversation for that spot, and didn’t do anything that made you immediately reach for the antacids. In Detroit, that counts as progress.

I like where the head is at with this pick. Moore was in the conversation for that spot and we didn’t reach or do anything crazy, which honestly feels like a win for this franchise lately. Let’s see what he brings to the field and build from there.
I get it, the pick makes sense on paper and we didn’t totally botch it, but that’s become our bar now? Not screwing up? That’s what we’re celebrating? I’ll believe it when I see Moore actually making plays for us, because I’ve been burned too many times to get hyped just yet.
You know, back when I was younger watching the Lions, you’d see picks like this and just shake your head wondering what the front office was thinking. At least nowadays they’re being thoughtful about it and not reaching way up for somebody. Small victories, but they add up.
The fact that draft experts are split on this actually makes me feel better about it honestly. Means it’s not a total disaster and Moore’s got real potential if we develop him right. I’m staying positive on this one!
