The 10 Players Brad Holmes is Guaranteed to Target in Round One

Ten Lions first-round draft targets identified based on Brad Holmes' proven talent evaluation patterns and Detroit's championship roster building strategy.

The Lions’ First Round Future: Ten Names to Know

Look, I get it. We’re still basking in the glow of actually having a competent front office, and here we are already talking about the draft. But that’s what happens when you trust Brad Holmes to do his job.

After everything we’ve learned during the Lions’ offseason, there are ten players who make the most sense for Detroit when their first round pick comes up. And yes, I know what you’re thinking – we’re getting way ahead of ourselves.

But here’s the thing about this Lions regime: they’ve shown they can identify talent. They’ve shown they can build through the draft. So when we look at the board and think about what Detroit needs, certain names start jumping out.

The front office has given us enough clues through their moves and their philosophy to narrow down the field. Holmes and company have patterns. They have types. They go for guys who fit the culture they’re building in Allen Park.

Tonight marks another step in that process. Another chance to add a cornerstone piece to what they’re constructing.

These ten players represent the Lions’ most likely targets based on everything we’ve seen from this front office. The way they evaluate. The way they prioritize. The way they think about building a championship roster.

It’s a far cry from the dart-throwing days we endured for decades. This feels different. This feels calculated. This feels like a front office that knows exactly what they’re looking for.

Are we setting ourselves up for another round of draft night heartbreak, or is this the new reality in Honolulu Blue? Time will tell which of these ten names ends up walking across that stage.

Finally feels like we have people in the front office who actually know what they’re doing instead of just throwing stuff at the wall. The way Holmes has been building this thing, I’m genuinely excited about who we’re gonna grab in the first round. This team is different and I can feel it.

I want to believe in this so bad, but I’ve been hurt too many times by draft picks that looked great on paper. Yeah Holmes has done some solid moves, but one good offseason doesn’t mean we suddenly know how to nail the draft. Prove it to me when these guys are actually playing in September.

You know what, it’s wild to see this kind of optimism around a Lions draft pick for once. Back in my day we just waited for the disappointment to roll in, but this front office has a different feel to them. They seem like they’ve got a plan instead of just winging it like we’ve seen before.

The culture Holmes is building in Allen Park actually reminds me why I love this team. Draft night is gonna be huge for us and I’m ready to see these ten names play in Honolulu Blue. Let’s go get a cornerstone piece.
