Lions Draft Tracker: Nine Picks to Either Build a Dynasty or Break Our Hearts Again

The 2026 NFL draft is here, and yes, I know what you’re thinking. We’ve been down this road before. We’ve watched this franchise turn promising draft capital into Matt Millen fever dreams and Joey Harrington nightmares. But here we are again, because that’s what Lions fans do.

The Lions walk into this draft with nine picks, including the No. 17 overall selection on Day 1. That’s followed by pick No. 50 on Day 2, then seven more chances to find diamonds in the rough on Day 3: picks 118, 128, 157, 181, 205, 213, and 222.

Nine swings at building something special in Allen Park. Nine opportunities to either validate this new era or remind us why we still flinch when someone mentions the draft.

What We’re Tracking

This page will be your one-stop shop for every Lions pick as they happen. No need to dig through endless draft coverage or wait for the talking heads to get around to mentioning Detroit between their Cowboys and Patriots segments.

We’ll update this tracker throughout all three days with who the Lions selected, what position they play, and why you should either be excited or start mentally preparing for another year of “well, maybe next season.”

Round 1, Pick No. 17: The Lions Select…

Coming soon! And honestly, this is where it gets interesting. Pick 17 means the Lions are picking in that sweet spot where talent is still available but you’re not getting a sure thing. It’s the kind of pick that either launches a career or haunts a franchise.

The Full Draft Board

Here’s what the Lions are working with:

Round 1: Pick 17
Round 2: Pick 50
Round 4: Pick 118
Round 4: Pick 128
Round 5: Pick 157
Round 5: Pick 181
Round 6: Pick 205
Round 6: Pick 213
Round 7: Pick 222

Two fourth-round picks and two fifth-round picks give this front office some real flexibility to move around or double down on positions of need. The question is whether they’ll use that ammunition wisely or find new and creative ways to disappoint us.

This is it, Lions fans. Time to see if this regime can draft like they’ve been coaching and playing. Bookmark this page and prepare yourself for three days of cautious optimism mixed with decades of scar tissue.

Think this draft class will finally put us over the top or are we setting ourselves up for another decade of “what if”? Drop your boldest predictions below.

Finally we got nine picks and two shots in the fourth and fifth rounds to really build depth. This is the kind of draft capital that can turn things around if we nail it. I’m genuinely excited about what Holmes and the team can do with this ammunition.

Look, I get it, nine picks sounds great on paper but we’ve had decent draft capital before and it didn’t always work out. Just gonna wait and see who we actually pick before I get my hopes up too high.

Been watching this team draft for way too long to count my chickens before they hatch. You nail picks like 17 and 50 and suddenly things feel different, but if you whiff on those early selections it doesn’t matter how many day three picks you got.

This is our year to prove we can build through the draft. The whole vibe around this team feels different and I really think this front office knows what they’re doing. Lets go Lions.
